Brown Smashes 1000 Freestyle Record at GLIAC Championships Day 1

DETROIT--Freshman Adam Brown kick-started the Lewis University swimming teams' performance at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships by smashing his own record in the 1000 yard freestyle.

Day 1 of the championships featured the 200 medley relays and the 1000 freestyle. Brown shattered his own record by 15 seconds in the 1000, taking fourth in the event in 9:43.30. His time also improves his NCAA B-Cut in the event.

The women's 200 medley relay finished third, while the men placed fifth. The men swam 1:38.47 and the women clocked a 1:49.90.

Megan Stevenson swam the 1000 for the women and finished 16th in 11:36.01.
