INDIANAPOLIS – Six Flyers recorded four or more kills in No. 17 Lewis women's volleyball's 25-16, 25-18, 25-13 sweep of Drury in the quarterfinal round of the 2011 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on Friday evening. The tournament is hosted by Indianapolis at the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center.
The second seeded Flyers out-hit the 10
th seeded Panthers .304 to .042. Lewis recorded 15 blocks to Drury's 3.0. Senior
Danielle Mount (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) finished with a team-best nine kills and eight blocks (two solo). Senior
Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) added eight block assists with six kills. Junior
Jillian Carlberg (Urbandale, Iowa/Waukee) (Urbandale, Iowa/Waukee) totaled six kills on seven attempts while recording six block assists.
The opening set was tied at 13 when Lewis turned it on with a 12-3 run. The second set was a similar story as Lewis closed the frame on a 14-7 push after the score was tied at 11. The Flyers didn't mess around in the third set, opening leads of 5-1, 13-4 and 20-9.

Kelly McConkey (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) each had 14 digs.
“We started slow but eventually put it together,” head coach
Lorelee Smith said. “I was pleased we didn't let up in the third set and finished the match in three.”
It is the third consecutive season Lewis has defeated Drury in the the GLVC Tournament. Drury ends their season 17-14. Lewis improves to 24-5.
The Flyers are next in action on Saturday in a 5:00 p.m. ET GLVC Semifinals match against No. 3 Missouri S&T.
