Lewis Men's Golf Leads The Field At Midwest Regional No. 1

Three Flyers are among the top 15 individuals

The Flyers shot a first round 291 at the Midwest Regional No. 1 on Sunday.

Chicago, Ill. - The Lewis University men's golf team is in first (291) after the opening round of the Midwest Regional No. 1 at Harborside International Golf Club. The first round was completed on Monday (Sept. 30) morning due to darkness on Sunday.
 
The 27-team field is playing on the Port (par-72, 6,883-yards) and Starboard (par-72, 6,997-yards) courses.
 
Lewis junior Ryan Frederick (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) is third overall with a first round 70.  Sophomores Robert Dofflemyer III (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) and Alex Thode (Washington, Iowa/Washington) are tied for 13th after putting together an opening round 73.
 
Flyer junior Jeremy Fraser (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way North) turned in a 75 while senior Mark Bermele (Evergreen Park, Ill./Brother Rice) was a stroke behind (76) to round out the squad.

Findlay's Marcus Hunt leads all individuals with a 69. The second round began at 8:30 AM
