Lewis Men's Basketball Signs Jake Reinhart To National Letter Of Intent

Reinhart to suit up for the Flyers beginning with 2015-16 campaign.

Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University head men's basketball coach Scott Trost announced on Tuesday (Nov. 25) that he has signed Bloomington Central Catholic combo guard Jake Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Flyers beginning with the 2015-16 campaign.

Reinhart, who stands 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, is no stranger to Lewis, as his sister Jess is a four-year starter for the No. 9 ranked Flyer women's basketball team.

"Jake is a tremendous addition to our program," Trost said. "He has a high basketball IQ and when you combine that with his ability to shoot the basketball, you have someone who will impact our program immediately.

"(Jake) is a high character young man who is a proven winner," Trost continued. "He comes from a great family and we are extremely excited that he's now joining our basketball family."

Reinhart has led Bloomington Central Catholic in scoring in each of his three seasons for the Saints. As a junior, he played a vital role in helping Central Catholic to the 2014 IHSA Class 2A State Championship, averaging 16.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists-per-game for the Saints, while draining 70 three-pointers. For his efforts, Reinhart was named Team MVP and to the Bloomington Pantagraph All-Area Second Team, Champaign News Gazette All-State Special Mention Team and All-Corn Belt Conference Second Team.

As a sophomore, Reinhart averaged 14.1 points and 4.4 rebounds-per-game on his way to All-Cornbelt Conference Second Team and Bloomington Pantagraph All-Area Honorable Mention accolades.

The No. 17 Lewis men's basketball team returns to the court on Saturday (Nov. 29), as the Flyers head to Detroit to take on Wayne State for a 3 PM ET tip-off.
