CHICAGO – Lewis men's golf is tied for 12
th overall at the 34-team Midwest Regional #1 after the first round of play on Monday (Sept. 29). The Flyers are hosting the event at Harborside International Golf Center.
The Flyers earned a score of 301 on the port course on Monday. Lewis will play the starboard course on Tuesday. Each team will play the opposite course they played on Monday. Lewis is tied with Walsh, Wayne State, Quincy and Tiffin, all who recorded a 301.
Junior
Robert Dofflemyer III (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) recorded Lewis' best round of the day with a 74, tying for 26
th overall. Senior
Jeremy Fraser (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way North) totaled a 75. Senior
Ryan Frederick (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) shot a 76. Freshman
Eric Raube (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac Township) finished with a 76. Junior
Alex Thode (Washington, Iowa/Washington) shot an 81.
Malone is in first place with a 291 on the starboard course. The best result on the port course on Monday was Grand Valley State's 293, good for fourth overall. The event features 34 teams and 169 total players.
The Flyers conclude the tournament on Tuesday.
