Naperville, Ill. - Lewis University freshman
Bryce Holesinger (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) set a personal-best and narrowly missed a NCAA Provisional in the decathlon with a first-place finish of 6,125 points at the Chicagoland Men's Track and Field Championships, hosted by the College of DuPage, on Saturday (April 11) afternoon.
Holesinger won the discus (35.47m), javelin (45.23m) and placed second in the pole vault (3.50m) and 110-meter hurdles (16.43).
"6,000 points is a huge barrier and not many freshman can achieve it," Lewis head men's track and field coach
Dana Schwarting said. "This gives (Bryce) a huge dose of confidence for his next decathlon at the GLVC championships."
Lewis returns to action on Thursday (April 16), as they travel to Lawrence, Kansas to participate in the Kansas Relays.
