Lisle, Ill. -
Lewis University junior Jaime Hershfang (Chicago, Ill./Walter Payton Prep) captured the 5,000-meter run title to propel the No. 19 Flyer women's track and field team to a fifth-place finish at the Benedictine Twilight Invitational on Friday (April 25) evening.

Hershfang crossed the finish line in 18:39.92. The Flyers also received a second-place performance from freshman Eva Poznanski (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Wheeling), who cleared 1.60m (5'3") in the high jump.

Loyola won the 19-team event with 106 points, while Lewis garnered 60.5 points.

"We competed great (today)," Lewis head women's track and field coach Dana Schwarting said. "Times and marks were hard to achieve with the wind and cold, but I'm proud of our effort and how hard we worked today."

Lewis returns to action on Friday (May 1), as the Flyers head to Liberty, Mo., to participate in the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
