Lewis’ Parnello Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Team

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University junior forward Kailey Parnello (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Central Catholic) was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Second Team which was announced on Tuesday (Nov. 27).
 
Parnello, a First Team All-GLVC selection, led the GLVC in shots with 83, shots per game (4.61) and was tied for the league lead with four game-winning goals. She was tied for second in goals (8), in points (18) and points per game (1.00) and was third in goals per game with 0.44. Parnello was named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals, including two game-winners, in the wins at Bellarmine and against Drury.
 
"I am really happy for Kailey that she was recognized as one of the best in the region," Lewis women's soccer head coach Chris Koenig said.  "She is an impact player and really stepped into that role for us this year.  She has worked extremely hard to take her game to a new level.  
 
"I know Kailey isn't about personal achievements over team success but it is validating to have other coaches recognize the outcome of her hard work."
 
The Flyers finished the season with a record of 9-7-2, 8-5 GLVC and advanced to the GLVC Tournament.
