BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Lewis University's women's track and field team wrapped up the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships with three all three of its representatives receiving All-American honors.
Jada Hoffman (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood Academy) earned First Team All-American honors with her performance in the 60 meters while
Anna Laudizio (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) and
Alecea Cardillo (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) earning Second Team All-American honors in the triple jump.
Hoffman finished fifth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.55 seconds. Laudizio finished ninth in the triple jump with her best effort coming in her final jump in the preliminary round as she leapt 12.21 meters (40-0.75) to secure a spot in the finals. Cardillo finished 11th overall in the triple jump with her best jump coming in her third try in the prelims. She hit a mark of 12.20 meters (40-0.5) and narrowly missed qualifying for the final round.
Lewis finished the championships in 40th place with four points.
The Flyers continue their outdoor season next weekend as they travel to Owensboro, Ky., to take part in the Brescia University Bearcat Classic.
