ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis' men's and women's track and field team sent some distance runners to Bellarmine's Jim Vargo Invitational on Friday in Louisville, Ky. The Flyers turned in five top five finishes, recorded five season bests, four personal records and picked up an NCAA II provisional qualifying mark.
Kassady Learn (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) finished fourth in the women's 10,000 race picking up a provisional mark for the national meet finishing in a season and personal best time in the event of 36:26.58. She shattered her previous best time in the event by nearly 17 seconds.
Arianna Amill-Ramos (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) took third in the women's 3,000 steeplechase finishing with a personal and season best time of 11:22.46.
Anthony Farmer (Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central) won the men's 1500 meter open race with a personal and season best time of 3:52.48.
John Partee (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) was the runner-up in the men's 800 race finishing with a season best time of 1:51.94.
Daniel Arimi (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) took fifth in the 3,000 steeplechase with a personal and season best time of 9:38.09 in the event.
Lewis is back in action next weekend at Olivet Nazarene in Bourbonnais, Ill.
