Hoffman Breaks Own School Record In 60 Meters At GVSU Big Meet

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Jada Hoffman (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood Academy) broke her own school record in the 60 meters and improved her provisional qualifying marks in both the 60 and 200 meters on Friday at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Mich. Arianna Amill-Ramos (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) also had a first place finish winning her heat in the 5,000 meters.

Hoffman was the only Division II competitor to finish in the top eight of the 60 meters as she was edged by Youngstown State's Kyndia Matlock by 0.05 for third place. She broke her own record of 7.53 seconds which she set in the prelims of the 60 meters last year at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Hoffman came back later in the evening to finish seventh in the 200 meters lowering her provisional mark from 24.78 seconds to 24.56 seconds. Her time is the third fastest in school history.

The Flyers had two distance runners place in the 5,000 meters with Amill-Ramos winning the sixth heat with a personal record time of 17:49.00 while Caroline Pacer (Wheaton, Ill./West Chicago) finished sixth in heat five with a time of 18:16.06 which was also a personal record.

Lewis is back in action on Saturday competing at North Central's Pat Heenan Invite in Naperville, Ill., beginning at 11 a.m.
