Indianapolis, Ind. - After a strong showing at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic this weekend, Karmen Kurowicka (Itasca, Ill./Lake Park HS) was tabbed the Great Lakes Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. 

Kurowicka is the second consecutive Flyer athlete to win GLVC Field Athlete of the Week after Denise Hernandez (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS) took home the honor last week. 

The Itasca, Ill., native won the high jump at the Hoosier Horsepower invite Friday night in Indianapolis.  Her leap of 1.71m is a season-best and currently ranks second in GLVC and eighth in NCAA.

Lewis is back in action on Jan. 24 at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
