ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University senior forward Connor Niego (Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Midwest Second Team on Wednesday afternoon.

Niego was one of four players from the GLVC to land on the second team and was joined by Missouri-St. Louis' Marty Jackson, Southwest Baptist's Quinn Nelson and Southern Indiana's Jacob Polakovich.

Niego, a First Team All-GLVC selection, led the Flyers in scoring and rebounding this season with 14.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game this season. He shot 51.6 percent from the floor including 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. Niego finished the season with eight double-doubles and was named the GLVC's Player of the Week on Dec. 6, 2021 and Dec. 27, 2021.

The Flyers finished their season with a record of 16-11, 12-5 GLVC and advanced to the semifinal round of the GLVC Tournament as the number two seed.
