ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Former Lewis University men's golfer Casey Pyne finished in a tie for 11th at the PGA Professional Championship to qualify for next month's PGA Championship.
Pyne golfed for Lewis for two years in 2009-10 and 2010-11 after transferring from Black Hawk College.
It was the first PGA Professional appearance for Pyne, who is currently an assistant professional at the Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn.
He finished with a 72-hole total of 1-under 282 (65-70-69-78) at the Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa (April 17-20) in Austin, Texas. The top 20 finishers advanced to the PGA Championship on May 19-22 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
