Lewis Men's Soccer Signs 11 For 2022 Class

ROMEOVILLE, Ill - Lewis University men's soccer coach Evan Fiffles announced on Monday (July 25) the signing of 11 players for the 2022 season: Noah Barkley, Maxiliano Ibarra, Danny Kajtezovic, Jesus Meza, Mikey Revell, Nicholas Rogalski, Pablo Rueda, Zakhar Shkidchenko, Zaid Sibaai, Makonnen Stampley and Stefan Ziermann.

"We're very excited in these 11 young men joining our program," Fiffles said. "Their addition to the first team will help us continue our goal towards challenging for championships this fall."
 
Barkley, a graduate from Urbana High School, is an aviation flight technology major. He was a three-time All Big 12 Conference Team selection, twice earning the team MVP and twice being named to the IHSSCA All-Sectional Team. As a senior he earned IHSSCA All-State honors, tallying 16 goals and 23 assists. As a junior he posted seven goals and 12 assists, leading the team in assists as both a junior and senior. He helped lead Urbana to a sectional title as a senior as the team finished with a 19-1-2 record.
 
Ibarra is a computer engineering major from Plainfield East High School. He was a two-time All-Southwest Prairie Conference member and conference MVP as a senior, as well as two-time All-Sectional and All-State player. He was also All-Region as a senior and runner-up All-American as a senior. He scored 12 goals in 11 games with eight assists as a junior and 32 goals with eight assists in 20 games as a senior, leading the team to a 15-2-4 record.
 
Kajtezovic is an information technology major from Lockport High School. He was a three-time all-conference member and earned All-Sectional Honorable Mention as a sophomore and was All-Sectional as a senior. He recorded 22 goals and 14 assists as a senior, helping the Porters to a third-place finish in state.
 
Meza, a transfer from North Central College, is a sports management major. He had two goals and three assists last fall at North Central. In high school at Glenbard West he was a three-time all-conference member and holds the team record for most goals scored in a single season with 29, while adding eight assists.
 
Revell is a health science major from Largo, Maryland. As a junior he was a first team all-conference member, leading the team in assists. The team went 11-7-3 on the year after going 0-17-3 the previous year.
 
A Maine South alum, Rogalski is a defender. He played club soccer at Sockers FC Chicago for 11 years, winning the Iber Cup in Spain in 2018.
 
Rueda is a transfer from Morton College where he was an All-American, the Player of the Year for NJCAA Region IV, Skyway Goalie of the Year, All-Tournament Team in the tournament, All-Region Team and two-time First Team All-Conference.
 
Shkidchenko is a graduate transfer who is coming to Lewis for a master's in business administration. At the University of St. Francis he broke the school record for goals in a single season last year, which led him to earning the Athlete of the Year award.
 
Sibaai, a cyber security major from Wichita, Kansas, is coming to Lewis as a center mid. He was All-City Honorable Mention for two years in high school before earning First Team All-City for two years. He led the city in assists with 16 in 12 games as a junior, helping his team to a 12-3 record. As a senior he earned All-State honors, finishing with six goals and nine assists.
 
Stampley, a Lockport High School graduate, is a business management major. The striker was three-times all-conference, twice All-Sectional and earned all-area in his senior year. He had 11 goals and five assists as a sophomore, nine goals and seven assists as a junior and 17 goals and 10 assists as a senior, helping the team to a third-place state finish and a 21-2 record.
 
Ziermann arrives from the University of Economics in Vienna. He plays central midfield, central defensive midfield and central defender.
