Lewis Men's Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- Lewis University men's soccer head coach Evan Fiffles announced his 2024 schedule with four nonconference contests and 14 Great Lakes Valley Conference match-ups this season.

The Flyers begin its 2024 slate at Lewis Stadium with a nonconference match as Lewis hosts Purdue Northwest Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in a rematch of the NCAA Division II Tournament First Round where the Flyers won 1-0 off a goal from Cristian Perez (Cicero, Ill./Morton East). The Flyers then head north to take on Parkside Sunday, September 8 at 2:30 p.m. then go on the road against Northern Michigan on Thursday, September 12 at 1 p.m. CT. 

The men's soccer team will travel for its first GLVC contest of the season on Sept. 15 as they travel to Quincy, Illinois to take on the Hawks starting at 2:30 p.m. Lewis is then home for the next four contests including three league games.

Lewis' home GLVC opener is against Upper Iowa on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. The Flyers host in-region opponent Roosevelt Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2:30 p.m. then a pair of GLVC contests against William Jewell Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 29 as Lewis takes on Truman State starting at 2:30 p.m. 

The Flyers travel to Rockhurst for a match-up with the Hawks on Oct. 6 starting at 2:30 p.m. as these teams met up in the opening round of the conference tournament. The Flyers then host Maryville on Sunday, Oct. 27 as both teams met up in the NCAA Elite 8 in Indianapolis with Lewis winning 3-2. 

A rematch of the GLVC Tournament Semifinals and NCAA II Sweet 16 will take place on Friday, November 1 as Lewis travels down I-65 to take on Indianapolis starting at 6:30 p.m. CT. The Flyers wrap up its regular season Sunday, November 3 as Lewis takes on Illinois-Springfield at UIS where Lewis advanced on PKs last season during the second round of the NCAA Tournament against the Prairie Stars. 

The GLVC Tournament will take place this year Sunday, November 10-Saturday, November 16 as the first round is hosted by the higher seed on November 10 while the semifinals (November 14) and championship (November 16) will take place at a neutral site location determined by the GLVC.

The NCAA II Tournament is set to begin Thursday, November 21 as the Flyers have made three consecutive trips to the postseason tournament.
