ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- Lewis University women's soccer head coach
Chris Koenig announced his 2024 schedule with three preseason scrimmages, three non-conference opponents and 14 Great Lakes Valley Conference matchups this season.
The Flyers begin its 2024 slate on the road as Lewis takes on Michigan Tech in a pre-season exhibition on August 21. Lewis hosts an exhibition on August 29 as the Flyers take on the Rockford Raptors Football Club at Lewis Stadium starting at 7 p.m.
Lewis begins the regular season with three non-conference matchups including the first one at home Thursday, Sept. 5 against Roosevelt University starting at 5 p.m. The Flyers then head north to take on Parkside on Sunday, September 8 starting at noon then conclude their non league schedule at home against in-region opponent Purdue Northwest on Wednesday, September 11 at 5 p.m.Â
The women's soccer team will travel for its first GLVC contest of the season as the Flyers go to Quincy, Illinois to take on the Hawks on Sept. 15 starting at noon. Lewis is then home for the next three conference matchups including its home GLVC opener against Upper Iowa on Friday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m., take on William Jewell Friday, Sept. 27 also at 5 p.m. then The Flyers host Alumni Day/Cornerstone Award Presentation Sunday, Sept. 29 as Lewis takes on Truman State starting at noon.
There will be three rematches of the GLVC Tournament in a two week period. The Flyers travel to Missouri-St. Louis for a matchup with the Tritons on Oct. 18 starting at 5 p.m. as both of these teams met up in the opening round of the conference tournament.
A rematch of the GLVC Tournament Championship will take place on Friday, Oct. 25 as Lewis women's soccer hosts McKendree at Lewis Stadium starting at 5 p.m. The next game will be against Maryville on Sunday, Oct. 27 as Lewis advanced on PK's last year in the GLVC Tournament Semifinals against the Saints when MU was the regular season champion.Â
The GLVC Tournament will take place this year Sunday, November 10-Sunday, November 17 as the first round is hosted by the higher seed on November 10 while the semifinals (November 15) and championship (November 17) will take place at a neutral site location determined by the GLVC.
