Romeoville, Ill. - After a successful showing at the 2025 Lewis Crossover, junior
Evan Horgan (Loves Park, Ill./Belvidere North) was tabbed the Great Lakes Valley Conference Male Runner of the Week and senior
Josephine Bober (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) was named the GLVC Female Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
This is the first weekly award for any male Flyers runner this season while it is the first time since
Mary Edwards (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) was named runner of the week back on Sept. 24 that the women's team collected a weekly award.
At the Lewis Crossover, Horgan placed 19th out of 385 runners with a season-best final time of 24:28.9 in the 8k. He shaved over 30 seconds from his previous season-best time of 25:04 which he set at the National Catholic Invite on Sept. 19. As a team, Horgan helped the Flyers place seventh with 291 points.
As for Bober, she finished eighth out of 335 runners on the women's side as she clocked in at 21:45.8 in the 6k. Her performance helped the Flyers land a second place finish with 140 total points.
Lewis is back in action on Oct. 25 when they host the GLVC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championship.
