Katharine Svehla (Elmhurst, Ill./York) is the GLVC Athlete of the Week for Women's Bowling. It is Svehla's first time winning the award and first Flyer since
Carolina Alvarado (Metepec, Mexico) on March 7 to win the award.
Svehla had the high average for the Flyers in both team and baker play, recording averages of 19.78 and 18.88 pins per frame, respectively. In team play she converted 77 percent of her makeable spares with a 42 percent strike percentage with a first ball average of 8.92. She filled 84 percent of her frames.
In baker play Svehla filled 80 percent of her frames to go along with a 43.5 strike percentage and an 8.80 first ball average. In 21 frames as an anchor bowler she filled 81 percent of 10th frames with a 43 percent strike percentage and a 24 percent double percentage.
