Oguz Named All-MIVA First Team; Four Others Awarded Second Team

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) announced its 2025 postseason awards and five Lewis men's volleyball players received All-MIVA honors. Oguzhan Oguz (Bursa, Turkey/Ocean) was named First Team All-MIVA, while Frederick Krueger-Beer (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa East), Tyler Morgan (Dike, Iowa/Dike-New Hartford), Nico Paula (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory School) and Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) all were awarded second team. 

"I am extremely proud of the team and the student athletes honored," head coach Dan Friend said. "Oguzhan, Max, Nico, Tyler and Fred all had fantastic seasons and were steadfast to their growth and commitment to the team's success."

Oguz has seen action in 26 matches so far this season and has played in 100 total sets. The junior leads the team and ranks second in the MIVA with 401 kills, boasting a .345 attack percentage and ranks third in kills/set at 4.01. Oguz also leads the league with 456.5 points. 

Krueger-Beer has appeared in 24 matches, playing in 92 sets. He has recorded 123 kills on a .433 attack percentage and tallied 67 total blocks at the net, ranking 12th in the MIVA. 

Morgan has participated in 27 contests as he has accumulated 952 assists, ranking him second in the MIVA, and 9.71 assists/set, fifth in the league. The senior has also recorded 11 service aces, 128 digs and 46 blocks. 

Paula was named All-MIVA for the second consecutive season after appearing in 28 out of the 29 matches. The libero leads the MIVA in digs (257) and digs/set (2.57). 

Roquet received his third straight All-MIVA honor during his senior season. The outside hitter ranks in top-10 in the MIVA in numerous statistics. He ranks sixth in the MIVA with 348 kills, eighth in kills/set (3.45) and ninth in the league with 76 blocks. He is also in the top 15 in digs (146) and aces (33).

Lewis will be back in action for the MIVA Tournament Quarterfinals as the Flyers host No. 5 seed Ball State at Neil Carey Arena Saturday, April 19, starting at 7 p.m. CT.
