INDIANAPOLIS – The Lewis University women's track and field team was voted to win the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field title in the preseason coaches' poll for the 2024-2025 season, the league office announced. The Flyers received 194 voting points and 12 of the 15 first-place votes after recently winning the GLVC Indoor Championship March 1-2 with 182.50 total points.
The preseason poll is selected by the league's head coaches who, per GLVC bylaws, cannot vote for their own team. Lincoln was picked second to the Flyers with 182 voting points and two first-place votes while Indianapolis (third, 168) received the last remaining first-place vote.
Lewis is coming off their eighth consecutive outdoor title and record 14th overall GLVC championship.
