ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced its Academic All-MIVA list Friday (May 28), with 17 Lewis men's volleyball student-athletes earning recognition. Lewis led the MIVA in total honorees for the fourth consecutive season and recorded a 3.49 team grade point average.
"I'm super proud of the guys and their commitment to academic excellence," Head Coach
Dan Friend said. "It speaks a lot about our team culture and the pride our guys take in the classroom."
To be eligible, student-athletes must have achieved at least a career 3.3 grade point average on a 4.0 scale after the completion of the spring semester. A total of 110 student-athletes made the Academic All-MIVA list this year.
Among the Flyer honorees were three student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA on the year: senior
Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston), sophomore
Luke Pekol (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) and
Zach Pekol (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy).
