KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Thursday (July 17) that seven Lewis University men's basketball players were named to the NABC Honors Court. The Flyers also earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The Flyers who earned the award were
Amir Whitlock (Plymouth, MN/Seward CC),
Bartosz Kapustka (Krakow, Poland/Orchard Lake St. Mary's),
Billy Durkin (Hinsdale, IL/Wheaton),
Cem Kirciman (Istanbul, Turkey/Wisconsin-Green Bay),
Devon Vanderheydt (Washington, Ill./Washington),
Paxton Warden (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) and
Ryan Renfro (Glen Ellyn, Ill./U.S. Military Prep).
