Box Score Rosemont, Ill. - Bemidji State downed the Lewis University softball team, 7-2, during the Saturday slate of the Dome Invitational.

Alayna DeGreaf led Bemidji State with three hits while Morgan Benedict tallied two RBI. In the circle, Sydney Klusman earned the win, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing five hits on 80 pitches.
Erica Hoffman (Hebron, Ind./Boone Grove High School) secured two hits for the Flyers while
Morgan Spodarek (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) amassed two RBI. In the circle,
Jolee Strohmeyer (Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque Senior) went the distance, throwing 132 pitches and fanning two batters
HOW IT HAPPENED
Bemidji State struck first to open the contest as Benedict doubled to center field, driving in the opening two runs of the contest.
Lewis replied in the bottom half of the frame as Spodarek knocked a ball into right field that bounced over the wall, bringing in two runs to tie the contest.
The Beavers took the lead for good in the top of the second as an untimely error from the Flyers allowed Brianna Ness to run home and make it a 3-2 ballgame. Bemidji State doubled their lead the next inning as Ness singled into left field, driving in Alexa Skogquist.
The Beavers added in runs during the fourth and fifth inning to keep the Flyers at bay and seal the 7-2 road win.
