Swimming Sends Pair to Nationals

Juan Jose Castro and Amelia Marsicek to Represent the Flyers in the Hoosier State

Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University swimming programs had two athletes qualify for the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships as Juan Jose Castro (Cali, Colombia/Corporacion Cultural Colegio Aleman) and Amelia Marsicek (Centennial. Col./Regis Jesuit) will head to Evansville, Indiana, to represent the Flyers. 

Castro will swim in the 500 free and 1650 free while Marsicek will compete in the 200 backstroke. For Marsicek, she placed third at the 2026 GLVC Swimming and Diving Championships in the 200 back with a time of 55.92 which also shattered the previous Lewis team record. As for Castro, he set his own school record and posted a NCAA b-cut time for the 500 free (4:24.15) at the IU Indy House of Champions Invitational back on Nov. 20. 

The 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships are set for March 9-14 at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Indiana.
