2012-13 Highlights: Recipient of the Br. David Delahanty Award - given  for academic excellence to Lewis student athletes…captured a victory in the 200 butterfly (2:03.66) against Carthage College (Jan. 12)…swam to a third place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:43.72) at the Carthage College Classic (Dec. 1).

2011-12 Highlights: Recipient of Lewis' Delahanty Award for academic excellence among student athletes....turned in a seveth place performance (16:27.64) in the 1650 freestyle at the 2012 GLIAC Championships (Feb. 12)...finished 13th (4:41.83) in an NCAA B performance in the 500 freestyle at the 2012 GLIALC Championships (Feb. 9)...member of winning 400 free relay team (3:19.89) in win over William Jewell (Oct 29)...third in 500 free (4:45.73) and first in 800 free relay (7:01.56) on day one of Carthage College Swimming Classic (Dec. 2)...third in 1650 free (16:36.21) on day two of Carthage College Swimming Classic (Dec. 3). Won the 200 butterfly in 2:04.25 vs. Lincoln (Jan. 27).

Prep/Personal: While at Galena High School, member of the Honor Roll, National Honor Society and graduated with Highest Honors...team captain with Reno Aquatic Club...son of Ed and Pam Welsh...biology major.
