Lewis Men's Golf Makes A Move On Day Two Of NCAA Regional

LEMONT, Ill. - Thanks to an even par 72 by junior Robert Dofflemyer III (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) on Tuesday (May 5) at the NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Regional at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, the Lewis men's golf team moved up four spots on the second day of the event.

The Flyers sit in seventh place among 20 teams with a two day score of 301-303=604. The top five teams advance to Nationals. Lewis is six strokes behind fifth place Southwestern Oklahoma State (598).

Dofflemyer is tied for 64th overall with a two-day score of 83-72=155.

The Flyers are led by junior Alex Thode (Washington, Iowa/Washington)'s 75-75=150. He is tied for 28th among the 108 entrants. Senior Ryan Frederick (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) owns a score of 74-77=151, tying for 42nd. Senior Jeremy Fraser (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way North) shot a 73-79=152. Freshman Austin Buente (Troy, Ill./Triad) had a score of 79-84=163.

The tournament concludes on Wednesday with a final round on Dubsdread.

Central Missouri is in first place (291-295=586).
