Lewis Men's And Women's Soccer Claim NSCAA College Team Academic Awards

Women (3.42 GPA) win award for 12th time, while men (3.33 GPA) earn honor for fourth-straight year.

Romeoville, Ill. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced on Thursday (Oct. 6) that both the Lewis University men's and women's soccer teams have earned the 2015-16 College Team Academic Award.

The award is given to any team with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average for the 2015-16 school year. Lewis is one of 221 schools in the country that had both of its teams recognized by the NSCAA.

The women's team takes home its 12th overall NSCAA College Team Academic Award with a 3.42 cumulative GPA in 2014-15. The men's squad earns the honor for the fourth-straight season with a 3.33 cumulative GPA.

Both soccer teams return to action on Friday (Oct. 7), as the Flyers head to St. Louis to square off with Missouri-St. Louis. The women's game is slated to start at 5 PM, while the men's contest kicks off at 7:30 PM.
