ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's men's soccer head coach
Evan Fiffles announced on Tuesday (August 11) that he's hired
Cooper Reis as a graduate assistant coach.
"We're looking forward to having Cooper join the program," Fiffles said. "He'll have a great insight in what it takes to be a student athlete at Lewis since he had a similar experience playing in the GLVC. More important he has a desire to be a coach in the future so he understands it will be a lot of hard work on and off the field.
Reis, a native of Quincy, Ill., played four years at Quincy where he appeared in 63 contests with 54 starts scoring six goals and assisting on 12 others for a total of 24 points. Last season, he was an All-GLVC second team selection after scoring three goals and recording five assists for a total of 11 points. Reis was named to the 2019-20 Academic All-GLVC team.
During his junior season, Reis scored three goals and added three assists for a total of nine points. He scored a career-high two goals in Quincy's 5-1 win over Missouri S&T.
Reis was a member of the Hawks' squad that finished as runners-up in the GLVC in 2016 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament at Rockhurst. He earned First Team All-GLVC honors along with First Team D2CCA All-Midwest Region and Second Team United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region honors.
Reis received his bachelor's degree in sports management with a minor in international business from Quincy this past May.
