INDIANAPOLIS -- The Great Lakes Valley Conference has announced that junior Bekah Nielsen (Normal, Ill./Heartland Community College) has been announced as GLVC Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in goal last week. 

Nielsen picked up a pair of clean sheets last weekend with two shutouts on Friday (Sept. 30) and Sunday (Oct. 2). Lewis was victorious on Friday against Illinois-Springfield, 1-0, then defeated Quincy, 3-0, Sunday.

In both contests, Nielsen recorded five total saves and saw 21 total shots. 

Lewis women's soccer will be back in action Friday, October 7 as the Flyers travel to William Jewell College to take on the Cardinals starting at 5 p.m. CT.
