Box Score 2 HONOLULU -- The Lewis University softball team lost both contests in Hawaii on Thursday (Feb. 6) as the Flyers fell to Nebraska-Kearney 7-6 then suffered a setback against Hawaii-Hilo 7-5.

SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the opening inning.
Anna Frafjord (Sussex, WI/Hamilton High School) singled which scored
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) to make it 1-0.
Erica Hoffman (Hebron, IN/Boone Grove High School) recorded a two-run single, scoring
Nicole Magdziasz (Tinley Park, IL/Providence Catholic High School) and
Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School) extending the lead out to 3-0. Kmak made it 4-0 after reaching on a fielder's choice which scored Frafjord.
Hoffman ended up scoring on a caught stealing attempt to make it 5-0.
Nebraska-Kearney responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame which made it 5-2. The Lopers came back in the next inning with a five spot to grab a 7-5 advantage.
Lewis was able to get one back in the fifth inning after
Mackenzie Sheehan (Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove) hit a RBI groundout to third which scored Frafjord.
Garden ecorded the loss (1-1) in the circle, going six innings, giving up six hits, allowing seven runs, walking four and striking out five.
GAME 2: Hawaii Hilo 7, Lewis 5

SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after Frafjord drove home Garden with a RBI single in the opening frame.
Hawaii Hilo got one back in the bottom half to tie the contest at 1-1.
The Flyers responded with a pair of runs in the third inning after
Ariana Trausch (Elk Grove Village, IL/Elk Grove High School) ripped an RBI triple to right center which scored
Isabelle Poortenga (Dyer,IN/Lake Central High School) to make it 2-1. Frafjord
made it 3-1 after her RBI single up the middle scored Trausch.
The Vulcans had the answer in the bottom half of the inning after scoring a pair of runs to make it 3-3.
The very next inning, Garden was able to give Lewis the lead back after her RBI single to right scored
Katie Jensen (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) to make it 4-3.
Hawaii Hilo regained the lead in the bottom half with a three-spot in the frame to give them a 6-4 advantage.
Frafjord got one back in the fifth with an RBI single which scored Trausch to make it 6-5. That was unfournately the last run the Flyers recorded the rest of the way.
The Vulcans added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to add to their lead at 7-5. That score would hold with Hawaii Hilo winning 7-5.
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) (1-1) suffered the setback in the circle after going all six frames, giving up 12 hits, seven runs (five earned), walking one and striking out five.
