High School: Earned two varsity letters as a pitcher, first baseman and third baseman ... as a senior, hit .340 with two home runs and 25 RBI and was Daily Herald and Elgin Courier-News all-area honorable mention ... helped lead Larkin to a 27-9 record that season, and a 28-9 record and the conference championship his junior year when he was 2-1 on the mound ... also lettered two years in basketball and two years in golf ... Daily Herald all-area honorable mention in basketball as a senior ... the golf team won conference and sectional titles and finished eighth in the state his senior year ... won Larkin[apos]s Sportsmanship Award as a senior ... National Honor Society member and an honor roll student all eight semesters.
