Lewis University Athletics

Rachael Patera was hired as an assistant athletic trainer at Lewis University in November 2008. Before arriving at Lewis Patera spent two years as the coordinator of the sports medicine program at Provena Physical Rehabilitation and Sports Injury Center in Joliet, Ill. Patera assisted with the development and implementation of functional rehabilitation programs at the sports injury center. She provided athletic training coverage at area high schools and assisted with annual physicals. Patera graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Illinois State in 2006. While at Illinois State she worked with the Redbird football, women[apos]s volleyball, women[apos]s gymnastics, cross country and track and field teams. Patera is a CPR/AED and Basic Life Support Instructor certified by the American Heart Association. She is a member of the National Athletic Training Association, Great Lakes Athletic Training Association and Illinois Athletic Training Association. Patera is married and resides in Plainfield.
