ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The College Sports Communicators have announced their 2022 Academic All-District Women's Soccer team with six members of Lewis women's soccer being named. In order to qualify for this award, you must have a 3.5+ GPA and play in over half of the matches your team participated in this year, this award combines performances on the field and in the classroom.
These six advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-teams will be announced in December.
Alex Dennis (Tinley Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew),
Abby Gustafson (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North),
Melisa Hadzic (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South),
Kenedi Jones (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove),
Faith Lewis (Corunna, Ind./DeKalb) and
Olivia Zediker (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) have all been named All-District.
Dennis, a special/elementary education major, saw action in all 17 matches while starting in all of them. The senior was the Lewis women's soccer nominee for the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award. She scored one goal and assisted on another one.
Gustafson, who is pursuing a MBA, played in and started all 17 matches for Lewis this season. Gustafson, a defender, helped Lewis to a 9-6-2 record and a trip to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament and was named to the All-GLVC First Team.
Hadzic, a elementary education major, started in 12 out of the 17 matches for the Flyers during her sophomore season. She scored two goals while recording three assists.
Jones, an elementary education major, also played and started all 17 contests for Lewis women's soccer this year. The sophomore assisted on one goal this season.
Lewis, who is also pursuing a MBA, played in all 17 matches for the Flyers while making 11 starts.
Zediker, nursing major, played in every match for Lewis this season while starting in 15 of those.
