He led NCAA Division II in strikeouts per inning as a sophomore and junior and concluded his career with 380 strikeouts in 307 innings, an average of 1.24 per inning.
Kazmierczak was named All-American first team, All-Region and All-GLVC as a senior and All-GLVC as a junior. He won 11 games (11-5) as a senior. As of 2002 Kazmierczak was tied for third on Lewis’ single-season list and was tied for sixth with 29 career wins (29-14).
Kazmierczak posted a 2.99 ERA, limited opponents to a .201 batting average, allowed just 18 homeruns and threw two no hitters during his collegiate career. The Flyers reached the NCAA Tournament and registered successive 42-win seasons in 1984, 1985, and 1986 and won the GLVC title in ’85 and ’86.
