Considered by many as one of the top female athletes in Lewis' athletic history, Carpenter-Galvin starred as a two-sport participant, earning honors in both softball and volleyball. She was a three-time Most Valuable Player in softball, accumulating several offensive and defensive records, among them top single season batting and fielding percentages. As a team captain, she led her teammates to a Great-Lakes Valley Conference Championship and one of the top performances in Lewis history.
After her freshman year, Capenter-Galvin accepted an invitation to join the Lewis volleyball team and had a stellar career in that sport as well, particiapting in a GLVC Championship. She is the founder and coach of the Bridgeport Volleyball club for grammar and high school players in the Chicagoland area.She continues to play softball for the powerhouse Desperadoes and also plays volleyball both competitively and recreationally. She also is a certified IHSA softball and volleyball official. Presently, she is employed by the City of Chicago in the Mayor's Office of Intergovernmental Affairs as an administrative assistant.
