Milsoh Pujo was the primary catalyst in the Lewis University men's basketball program's recent rise to prominence in the GLVC and the Great Lakes Region.
In Milosh's junior season, 1997-98, Lewis made its first NCAA Division II Championship appearacne in 10 years. The Flyers returned the following season, laying the groundwork for a seven-year period during which Lewis has made five trips to the national tournament.
Milosh is Lewis' No. 2 career scorer with 1,880 points (16.9 average). He was the team's leading scorer in his sophomore (17.0), junior (18.1) and senior (20.1) seasons, becoming just the second Flyer to top the team scoring chart three times. Milosh owns Lewis records for free throws made in a game (20), season (165) and career (565) as well as the school mark for most free throws made in a game without a miss (20 of 20).
As a freshman, Milosh was the GLVC Newcomer of the Year and was named to the Division II Bulletin national all-freshman team. He led the league in scoring and field goal percentage as a sophomore and was an All-GLVC first-team pick and the Flyers' Most Valuable Player that year, honors he also garnered as a junior and senior. MIlosh is the only Lewis men's basketball player to make the All-GLVC first team three times.
Also the only Flyer to be named all-region three seasons, Milosh made the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) all-region second team as a sophomore, the Daktronics all-region second team as a junior and the NABC and Daktronics all-region first teams as a senior. The pinnacle of his career came at the conclusion of his senior season when he was named to the NCAA Division II All-America team by the NABC, Basketball Times and Basketball News.
Milosh was named GLVC Player of the Week six times. He holds conference season records (includes GLVC games only) of 114 free throws made and 146 free throw attempts set in the 1996-97 campaign.
