Raymond Crowley

Ray Crowley played baseball for the Flyers from 1971-1975.  His accomplishments rank Crowley as one of the finest players in Lewis history.
 
He ended his career ranked among the Lewis leaders in several all-time statistical categories.  Crowley currently ranks 11th in runs scored (162), 13th in total hits (195), fifth in home runs (39), fifth in runs batted in (190), ninth in doubles (38) and second in triples (15).
 
As a four-year standout at first base, Crowley helped the Flyers compile a 173-54 record during his career, including NAIA National titles in 1974 and 1975 and four Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.  In addition to being noted for his accomplishments with the bat, Crowley is considered one of the finest first basemen in Lewis baseball history.
 
A two-time NAIA all-tournament performer at the National Finals, Crowley gained NAIA All-American honors in 1974.
 
He signed a professional baseball contract with the Montreal Expos in 1975 and played professional baseball for seven years.  In 1975, he led the Rookie League in hitting with a .340 batting average.
 
Crowley currently is a senior manager with Federal Express in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.  He and his wife, Mary Ellyn, reside in Glen Ellyn, IL with their four children.
