Tom Kennedy arrived at Lewis never playing high school basketball but helped shaped the successful Flyer basketball clubs in 1959, 1960, 1961 and 1962.  Kennedy earned the team’s Most Valuable Player Award in 1962 in addition to the Most Improved Player Awards in 1960 and 1961.  Kennedy began teaching and coaching at Lewis and then helped open Aurora Christian Brothers HS (Roncalli) where he coached basketball and baseball.  Kennedy returned to Lewis to assume the duties as Intramural Director and started the first ever Lewis Flyers Soccer team.  In 1977 Tom moved to the College of St. Francis where he served as administrator (Director of Academic and Career Placement), and as an instructor.
