    Renowned as a basketball coach and clinician, Sullivan holds a litany of honors for his successes, leading his teams to over 3000 victories on the collegiate and 100 on the high school levels. After a ten-year career at Providence High School in New Lenox and one year at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, he has spent the past 15 years at the College of St. Francis and is presently Athletic Director and Basketball Coach. His teams have finished first or second in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference 9 of the 11 years.
    Sullivan has been named Coach of the Year in his conference four times, NAIA District 20 three times, NAIA Area VI in 1980 and NAIA, State of Illinois in 1989, as well as High School Coach of the Year in 1974, Joliet Catholic High Alumnus of the year 1981; and NAIA District 20 Athletic Administrator of the year 1988 and 1989.
    As a two-sport athlete at Lewis in basketball and baseball, he excelled in the classroom and was named valedictorian in 1965. Serving as team captain of the baseball team, he earned District Twenty All State Team membership and had a career 11-2 overall record, while hitting over .400. He was a member of Lewis' first teams to participate in the NAIA national tournament in 1962.
