One of the top goalies in Flyer history, Luhr manned the goal for four seasons for the Flyers helping lead them to a 52-24-7 overall record, three Great Lakes Valley Conference championships and was a three-time All-GLVC selection. During his freshman campaign in 1994, Luhrs started all 22 games and posted a goals-against average of 0.99 while making 97 saves and posted seven shutouts and allowed more than two goals only once. In 1996, he started 17 games allowing only four goals while making 64 saves, posted a goals against average of 0.24 and posted 12 shutouts to earn First Team All-GLVC honors.
He led the nation in goals against average his junior season and helped the Flyers as a team finish third in Division II with a goals against average of 0.40. He was a second team All-American selection and first team All-Region selection in 1996. In his senior year he finished 11th in NCAA Division in goals against average with 0.84 and was an Academic All-GLVC selection.
