Cathy Spencer played volleyball for the Flyers from 1978-1981.  Considered the most versatile player ever in Lewis history, Spencer played all positions on the court.  During her four years at Lewis the overall volleyball record was 191-54.  Cathy was captain of the volleyball team in 1979, 1980 and 1981. She was selected to the All-Tournament Team of the Midwest Catholic Classic in 1979, 1980 and 1981.  Her teammates voted her the Most Valuable Player in 1980 and 1981.
 
Spencer Dollear was voted to the All-State Team and All-Region Team in 1980 and 1981.  In 1981, she was voted to the National All-Tournament Team and also voted the Most Valuable Player in the Midwest Regional Tournament.
 
Lewis won the Illinois State Volleyball Championship all four years that Spencer Dollear played.  Her 1981 team finished second in the Nation in the NCAA National Championships.
 
In 1981 Cathy was named to the All-American Volleyball Team, the only player in Lewis history to receive the honor.
 
Cathy is married and the mother of daughter, Sarah.
