Ken Weislak played baseball for the Flyers from 1977-1980. Weislak holds career records for most hits in a season (114), most total bases in a season (213) and most team wins in a season (61). His twenty-five game hitting streak also ranks him number one in that category.
He ranks eighth in the all-time leading home run category with 29, twenty-five of them coming in the 1980 season. Ken’s .361 lifetime batting average ranks him number ten on the all-time list. He was voted the Most Valuable Player Award by his teammates in 1980. His 1980 team finished 2nd in the nation at the NAIA National Baseball Tournament. He was voted to the All-Tournament Team and received the prestigious Golden Glove Award the same year. He was named to the NAIA All-American Team in 1980.
Ken was a seventh round draft pick and signed by the Montreal Expos following the 1980 season. He played in their minor league system until 1983.
Ken and his wife Mary reside in St. Charles, Illinois. They are the parents of a 3 ½ year old daughter (Kristina). Ken is a Mortgage Broker for World Mortgage Company, Oak Brook, Illinois.
