Jerry Tokars, an all Catholic League basketball player, arrived at Lewis after one year at Xavier (OH) University.  As a sophomore Jerry was one of the starting guards.  At De La Salle, Jerry Tokars has become an institution and his teams have won 505 basketball games.  Included in those 505 victories are three Chicagoland Prep League Championships, three Chicago Catholic League Championships, eight IHSA Regional titles, three trips to the ISHA Elite Eight, all highlighted by the 3rd place finish in the 1977 IHSA State Tournament.  Jerry and his wife live in Chicago Ridge, IL, are parents of five children and they have one grandchild.
