Russell Grundy

Russ ‘Buc’ Grundy played for the Flyers as a tackle on the 1950, 1951, and 1952 editions of the football team.  He participated in the 1951 Corn Bowl game and co-captained the 1952 team.  
 
Grundy has taught and coached at Lewis, Joliet Catholic HS and Wausau (WI) Newman HS.  At Lewis, he was the first wrestling coach.  Since 1968, Grundy has been at Wausau Newman HS where he was the Head Football Coach, Athletic Director, and Head Wrestling Coach.  Russ still assists in varsity football and is in his 14th year as Head Baseball Coach.  Wausau Newman, a school of 415 students, is a powerhouse in the Central Wisconsin Catholic Conference and Grundy’s 1980 Baseball squad won the Wisconsin State Baseball Title.  
 
Russ, his wife and their seven children reside in Wausau, WI
