Glenn Sharp played golf for Lewis University from 1981 to 1985, earning all conference recognition in 1982, 1983 and 1984. Considered one of the finest players in Lewis golf history, Sharp was voted the most valuable player in 1983 and 1984. As captain of the 1984 team he led his team to Lewis' first ever Great Lakes Valley Conference Golf Championship. However, it was Sharp's coaching career at Lewis that has distinguished him among his peers.
After completing his college eligibility at the age of twenty-one, Sharp assumed the head coaching duties of the Flyers and guided them to back to back GLVC conference championships in 1985 and 1986. He is the only coach in Lewis golf history to do so. His teams also finished second in the GLVC four different times.
His 1989 team is the only Lewis team ever to be nationally ranked. Playing on that team was Lewis' only 1st team NCAA All American and NCAA tournament qualifier, Jason Shook. His 1989-90 team still holds the Lewis record for team stroke average (304).
In 1992 Sharp started the Lewis women's golf program. He left Lewis University in 1993 to start a professional career in the golf industry.
Sharp has held assistant golf professional positions at Edgewood Valley Country Club, LaGrange, IL, Iron Horse Country Club, Palm Beach, FL, High Ridge Country Club, Palm Beach, FL and Butterfield Country Clun, Oak Brook,IL. He has held head golf professional positions at Mid Iron Golf Club, Lemont, IL, snd Glenaeagles Country Club, Lemont, IL.  He was tournament director at Medinah Country CLub, Medinah, IL in 1992 & 1993. Sharp holds degrees from Lewis University in both economics and accounting.
