Bobby Russ played for Lewis baseball from 1986-1989. Bobby led the Flyers to GLVC Championships in 1986 and 1987 and an NCAA Tournament Bid all four seasons. In 1988 Lewis finished third while in 1989, the Flyers finished fifth. 

During the 1989 season, Bobby earned All-GLVC Honors and All-American honors after his performance on the mound while picking up 10 wins. 

Bobby was regarded as the ace of the pitching staff for the Flyers as he became the first pitcher ever to register double-digit win total in consecutive seasons. 

In  the 1988 North Central Regional, Bobby posted two wins and a save while earning Tournament MVP Honors. In the 1989 World Series, Bobby tossed 3.1 innings in relief to pick up Lewis’ only win that series. 

In total during his four years at Lewis, Bobby recorded 29 total wins including a no-hitter victory against Rockford in 1986. 

Bobby currently lives in Chicago with his wife and four children
