Alfred Latham

Al Latham played basketball for the Flyers from 1957-1961. His 1958-1959 team set the mark for most wins in a regular season, 27-7.  That mark still stands today.  He was the leading scorer in 1958-1959 (17.5 ppg) and 1960-1961 (17.6 ppg).  His points per game average ranks him in the top twenty among all-time leading scorers in Lewis history.
 
He was voted the Most Valuable Player by his teammate in 1959 and 1961.
 
Latham was captain of the 1961 team.  He was the first player named to the All Catholic All-American Team, receiving that honor in 1961.  His 1510 career points ranks him fifth among all-time leading scorers in Lewis basketball history.  
 
Al is married and the father on one son, Michael.  He resides in Danville, California where he is the Western Regional Sales Manager for Strathmore Paper Company of Springfield, Mass.
