Azman, a member of Lewis' first baseball team in `953, was a three-year starter at shortstop. He hit .329 in 1954 and .448 the following year. He played in the first baseball game ever played by Lewis, an 8-4 win over Chicago Teachers College. His 1954 team won the first of many Chicagoland Baseball Conference Tournaments. On the basketball court, Azman was a four-year starter. Jack was voted to the Chicagoland Basketball Tournament All-Tournament team in 1952. As a freshman he was a member of the team that won its first ever Midlands Conference game. He co-captained teams in both sports in 1955. Azman is still considered one of the finest defensive players in Lewis basketball history.
   Azman also served as class vice presidentin 1952, class president in 1953 and Letterman's Club treasurer in 1955.
   Azman made the Deans' list all four years and was the recipient of Lewis' first Father Aquinas Awards for achievement in 1955.
