A resident of Joliet, IL, Lucent played four seasons for the Flyers and earned 2nd team All-America honors during the 1966 season. He has the second best all-time pitching record (32-8) and holds the career earned run average record (1.49). He once struck out 18 batters in a seven-inning game. Known for having great stamina, Lucenta never needed to be “relieved,” according to former Lewis Coach Gordie Gillespie.
